Backyard Birds of the Hudson Valley Presented by Mohonk Preserve In-Person
May 8th is World Migratory Bird Day!
As we are spending more time close to home, many people have taken an interest in bird watching in their own backyards and neighborhoods. If you are new to bird watching, perhaps you are having trouble identifying just what birds are visiting your feeders.
During this hour-long presentation by a Mohonk Preserve educator, you will get a few tips and tricks to identifying our feathered friends visiting the feeders. Learn how to use apps for your smartphone to help you to identify birds and contribute to citizen science from home. As our global and local climate changes, contributing to citizen science becomes more important to help scientist tract shifting bird populations and migration patterns.
Learn the best way to attract birds to your yard and when you should take down your feeders for the season. Begin your lifelong hobby of bird watching today!
Registration is required. Zoom link will be emailed to registrants three hours prior to the program.
This program is in collaboration with the Ulster County Library Association.
