Library Budget Vote In-Person

Library Annual Vote and Meeting

The Highland Public Library Board of Trustees held the annual Special District meeting on Tuesday April 23rd at 5:30 PM.  A reading of the proposed budget followed a report from the President of the Board.  The annual budget vote will be held in the library from 10 am-7 pm on Wednesday April 24, 2024. Two candidates, Eric Norberg and Mark McPeck, are running for the three open seats on the Board. 
 

Eric Norberg is a Business Transformation Consultant for the Travel & Expense categories supporting IBM’s global clients with procurement consulting and transformation strategies.  He has extensive experience sourcing and leading innovative transformation initiatives for a broad range of industries and clients around the globe. His specialties include financial services, private equity and entertainment. Eric and his wife Nancy a Highland native, returned to Highland almost 20 years ago to open their Inn. Eric volunteers on various town committees, the library and the Hudson Valley Rail Trail.

Mark McPeck has been a resident of Highland his entire life, having grown up here and graduating from Highland High School in 1991. He received a BA in Secondary Education from SUNY New Paltz and is currently employed at Marist College in their IT Department. Mark is lifelong patron of the library and served previously on the Library Board of Trustees from 2010-2021. He held a variety of positions on the BOT including Financial Officer, Vice President and President. “Having been on the board before, I know how much the library gives to the community and I would like the opportunity to be a part of the library again.”
